Pleather

Anthropologie Skirt, Joie Tank, Rebecca Minkoff Clutch, Chan Luu Necklace, Sequin Cuff c/o, Coach Wedges

I've gotten so much wear out of this skirt. It serves as the perfect neutral in my closet. I dress it up for a night out with silk blouses and wedges and wear it during the day with graphic tees and flat sandals. It truly doesn't disappoint. I recommend it to anyone looking for a flirty, versatile piece to add to their wardrobe.

Spotted

Anthropologie Dress + Wedges, Sequin Cuff c/o, Calypso Bag

This dress is the perfect blend of style and comfort. Its effortless material and free flowing spirit is easy to wear and doesn't require much fuss. I kept my accessories simple (for once) and just rocked an oversized clutch and fringe bag.

Also, I apologize for my lack of blogging this week. I'm starting a new job, which requires trainings, meetings, planning, and decorating. As a new teacher, I'm a tad overwhelmed. Bare with me. There are more outfits to come!

Prison Stripes

Zara Top (Similar) + Clutch (Similar), Rebecca Taylor Skirt, ZeroUV Sunglasses, Kate Spade Ring, Anthropologie Wedges

I wish that when I bought this skirt, I could have foreseen how much I would wear it. I would have bought it in black too. I'm not one to buy pieces in multiple colors, but this skirt is so easy to style ( I wear it with blouses, sweaters and with bare legs or tights); it's so versatile. The black seems to be out of stock, but I'm still on the lookout for it.

Also, I've been dying for a piece with these "prison" looking stripes. I think an oversized blouse is the best way to wear this trend and can't wait to try it with simple black jeans for a more casual look.

Tunic

1. Abstractions Tunic 2. Ribbed Dagny Tunic 3. Blocked Verse Tunic 4. Kiernan Open Lace Top 5. Livi Cotton Gauze Top 6. Rebecca Taylor Ombre Shirtdress

A good tunic is key in my wardrobe. I pair mine with my favorite skinny leg black pants last seen here. As a teacher, it tends to be easier to play around with colorful or patterned tunics rather than shorter dresses. During the day, I'm constantly moving, and sitting at all levels, which can be difficult in dresses. Besides being work appropriate, they are so easy to take from work to a night out. Throw on some edgier accessories and you're good to go! I love buying pieces that are versatile for work and for play. Here are some of my favorites!

P.S.— Don't forget to check out my interview on Eve's Addiction blog! Their site is filled with gorgeous jewels at very reasonable prices. Enjoy!

Gals Got Style

I could literally sit on Pinterest for hours looking at fashionistas for style inspiration. When the weather changes, or when I go back and forth from Connecticut to Florida, I'm always in need of some serious outfit revamp.

I'm a maxi addict, and we all probably know this by now. I love this black pleated number dressed down with fun, oversized necklaces, and a slouchy blouse.

I love this simple LBD, mix of colors, and messy hair. Oh, and how amazing are these shoes?

I've been living in my boyfriend jeans lately. I love them with a tribal inspired clutch paired with a classic tee.

I love this drop waist, fit and flare dress. A denim jacket is a staple in my wardrobe and pairing it with a glitzy necklace is somewhat unexpected.

All white is pure genius. I love the eyelet detail, belted waist, and oversized cardigan. I also need to learn how to do this hairstyle.

Ring Party

Dainty gold rings have been catching my eye, for obvious reasons, and it seems like when I wander around stores, I end up walking out with a new, tiny ring. I especially love the bows, hearts, and teensy diamonds that look perfectly stacked on each finger. Also, when my pinky rings feel slightly big, I stack them on my knuckles for a little edgier look. My favorite ring shops are Catbird, House of Harlow, and Etsy.
Guys, are you listening? These are the perfect little gifts for your lady.

^Some of my favorites

  1. Horseshoe Midi Ring
  2. Topshop
  3. Dogeared Star ring
  4. Dogeared Charmed Bow Ring
  5. Windsor Cross Ring
  6. Mociun Square Ring
  7. House of Harlow Bone Ring
  8. Trillion Diamond Ring
  9. Threadsence Knuckle Ring

Is there anything better than chambray? Well, maybe chocolate, but fashionably speaking, chambray is a key element in my wardrobe.

I pair my long sleeved tops over summer dresses, which replaces an ordinary cardigan. During the hot months, I wear my sleeveless pieces with maxi skirts, black denim, and even leather. Chambray also allows you to wear a fancier skirt during the day because it balances the entire look out, which is one of my favorite outfits. How do you wear chambray?

Holiday Weekend

Rebecca Taylor Skirt, Madewell Tank and Necklace, Urban Outfitters Jacket, Below the Belt Clutch (Similar), Coach Wedges

How was your Holiday weekend? Mine was spent with family watching fireworks (obviously), sitting beachside, and sipping champagne (and some strong delicious sangria).
Whenever there is a holiday during the week, it always screws me up. I didn't know what day it was all weekend long. I still don't. This is my final week in Connecticut. So sad, but I'm savoring each moment at home!

Shadow Days

Rebeca Taylor Dress, Stuart Weitzman Wedges, Zara Clutch, Sequin Cuff, ZeroUV Sunglasses

I've been loving this dress lately. The colors, the twist tie around the waist, the slightly longer length, just everything. I waited for it to go on sale before I snatched it up and it was so worth the wait! I also like to wear it paired with leather and black accessories to toughen up the somewhat dainty dress.

In other news, Google Reader is officially gone. So sad, but don't forget to follow Bright and Sassy on TwitterFacebookPinterestBloglovin', or Instagram.  All are updated with each new post!

Sheer Silk

Joie Tank, Madewell Skirt (Similar), Rebecca Minkoff Clutch (Similar), Free People Necklace, Sequin Cuff c/o, Ray Ban Sunglasses

I'm still in Connecticut for a few more weeks and spent the weekend with my friend, Macey. It was fun to get her out of The City and visit me in the suburbs for a change. We relaxed and caught up, ate out a lot, and fulfilled some charity work.

This particular outfit was taken when I was still in Florida (I'm missing those big, bad palms). Maxis are a staple in my wardrobe but finding one that is sheer, with added embroidery, adds something special. I always turn to this skirt when wanting a dressier ensemble, and since it's a solid, it makes pairing it especially easy!
