The White Vest

Today I am taking over The Darling Prepster blog and discussing my love for white vests. Click on the blog to see how I style them, and why you must have one in your closet for Summer!

Travel Style

Eileen Fisher Pants, Theory Top, DVF Jacket, Anthropologie Necklace, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Sam Edelman Sandals, Sequin Cuff c/o
I legitimately could wear black everyday. It's easy, stylish, and slightly mysterious. This has been my go-to outfit for casual days, but I've also been reaching for it recently when traveling. These pants are the absolute best to travel in, and I've been doing a lot of that lately.

What one color could you not live without?

Vibrant Patterns

Anthropologie Dress, Sam Edelman Sandals, Zara Clutch, Sequin Cuff c/o

I spent the weekend in New York City. The weather was spectacular over the weekend, which was perfect for walking around the city and enjoying the official start of Summer. Make sure to follow me on instagram to see all of my New York adventure.

These photos were taken last week in Naples right before a delicious Italian dinner. I love walking around the quaint streets of the downtown area listening to live music, window shopping, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Imperfect

Rebecca Taylor Skirt, Forever 21 Tee, Zara Clutch, Sequin Cuff c/o, ZeroUV Sunglasses

I love when outfits aren't too perfect. Pairing a flirty fit and flare skirt, which is on the fancier side, with a casual striped tee is probably one of my favorite things to wear. Pieces with a little "girly" factor always look better with tougher pieces such as black stripes and chunky wedges. Oh, and how awesome is this clutch? I scored it at Zara. It was actually the only one left, and I snatched it from the mannequin and made my boyfriend guard it while I tried some things on. The things we do for fashion!

thredUP Day 4

Tart Dress c/o thredUP, Rebecca Minkoff Clutch, DVF Heels, ZeroUV Sunglasses
Sadly, this is the last day of my thredUP challenge. I was so happy when I was sent this Tart dress. This dress is the perfect choice for a girl on a budget, because it can be worn endless ways. Make sure to watch the video on their website to see the ways to style it. It's so cool! Buying a dress that is so versatile is great for several different occasions. It is wedding season, and if you are worried about finding different outfits for each party, this dress will be your best friend!

thredUP Day 3!

Zara Tee c/o ThredUP, Madewell Skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, ZeroUV Sunglasses

I practically live in Zara tees. They have so many fun colors, patterns, and fits to play around with, and they don't break the bank! When I saw this Zara tee on the thredUP website, I knew I had to add it to my shopping list. I love basic tees, and the low back gives it a little sass. Have you checked out the thredUP website yet? What do you think!?

thredUP Day 2

Neiman Marcus Dress c/o thredUP, Madewell Necklace, Zara Clutch (Similar), ZeroUV Sunglasses

I must admit, I was slightly hesitant to take the "ThredUP Challenge." I do consign my own clothes, but trusting an online resale was difficult for me. I think it may be because I am such a visual person; I like to touch things, try them on, and have them tangible for me before I purchase them.

After viewing the thredUP website, I found so many familiar designers that I love and great (affordable) pieces that I ended up coveting. Searching for clothes to purchase was so easy. You can actually search by designer, which is my favorite way to shop online.

The clothes were received in the cutest, green, polka dot box. I must admit, when I opened the box, I was overjoyed.  The box stated that thredUP donates a portion of proceeds, from every thredUP bag, to support the development of high-quality teachers in our schools through "Teach for America." I love this. I believe strongly in teaching and that little saying on the box, before even seeing the clothes, made me realize that I would be a continuous shopper at thredUP.

The clothes looked perfectly new. Some even had the original tags! It's sometimes hard to order clothes online, because it can be a challenge to see the exact fit of something you're buying. These items looked and fit exactly how they were shown on the site. I hate surprises when shopping online, don't you?

A Week with thredUP

Ace and Jig Dress c/o thredUP, Madewell Vest and Necklace, Zara Clutch, Sequin Cuff

I've teamed up with thredUP and have allowed them to dress me for the week! thredUP is a resale website specializing in practically new (truly) mainstream brand apparel for kids and women (i.e. Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, GAP, etc.) at 80% off retail.

“Practically New” means there are absolutely NO signs of wear or tear. Every item undergoes a 12-point inspection process by expert consignors, including full color-spectrum light that illuminates even the most minor flaws. thredUP takes high resolution photos so buyers can see every detail and can return items within 30 days.

Just like with used cars (now “certified pre-owned”), and used electronics (now “refurbished”), thredUP’s rigorous inspection process and “Practically New” certification provides a quality promise to customers— helping to eliminate the risk of buying used online.

thredUP carries every mainstream clothing brand, Gap, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, H&M, and sells the same clothes customers around the country are buying today. The only difference is that by buying on thredUP, customers save up to 80% off what they would have spent buying the item new.  It’s a no-brainer.

Check back tomorrow for another thredUP look!

Little White Dress

Rebecca Taylor Dress, DVF Jacket, Ray Ban Shades, Below the Belt Clutch
I think I may have just found the perfect white dress. It's soft, stretchy, and has the perfect amount of flare! For the Summer months, it's so important to have a go-to piece, and this is mine!
This dress was originally bought for my graduate school graduation and has proved to be so versatile since then. I love pairing it with printed jackets and different jewels. White is such a fabulous blank canvas for an accessory lover— like me.

It's sandal season! As much as I love boots, I equally (if not more) love sandals! Since I tend to live in my sandals each season, I find it important to refresh them. At the end of each summer my sandals are destroyed, dirty, and almost falling apart. This season, I've been loving the mini heeled version (like the Sam Edelman option above) as well as the strappy flat sandals. I tend to gravitate toward flat sandals rather than heeled ones, because I get more use out of them, but having a really good heeled sandal is just as important!

Longing for Layers

J Brand Jeans, Rebecca Taylor Blouse, Zara Vest, Rebecca Minkoff Clutch, Coach Wedges,  ZeroUV Sunglasses, Sequin Bangle c/o

The Florida weather tends to limit my style, because the heat and humidity makes it impossible for any chic layers. Even wearing long sleeves with skirts is unbearable, and I've been living in light, airy dresses for day and night. I never thought I would actually miss certain clothes, like jeans, but after a full year of consistent hot days, I do miss the versatility of the changing seasons. Due to my withdrawals, here's an outfit I wish I was wearing right now.
