The White Blouse

Ann Taylor Blouse (Similar), H&M Skirt, Stuart Weitzman Wedges, mark. Clutch c/o, Kate Spade Ring, J. Crew Bracelet

My mom came back to Florida last week after about a month of being back in Connecticut. Whenever she comes back down she is always talking about her new fashion obsession and this time was no different. She's been non-stop talking about white blouses paired with anything from a simple pencil skirt to colored jeans. She's right! There is nothing better than a loose-fitting, crisp white blouse and I love wearing them with a bright skirt or dark pant!

Inspiration: New York City

simple tank + wide leg neon pants

I'm in need of a little inspiration as of late. I'm headed to New York City on Friday and I feel a little out of the loop, ya know? I've been in Florida for almost a year now and I am starting to feel like I've lost touch with what people are wearing in the "real world," aka the world where the weather allows layers and embraces seasons! Here are a few pictures to get me back in the game and make my packing a little easier! New York City ladies— what are you wearing?

maxi + denim vest

oversized crochet sweater

statement necklace + long sleeved dress

leather + simple white tee + neon heels

Neutral Territory

Calypso St. Barth Dress, Tory Burch Bag, Stuart Weitzman Wedges

Julia from Cup of Tea asked me to put together my best Memorial Day outfit for her 'May Tea Time' post. The first thing that came to mind was a maxi— they are perfect for lounging around at a picnic, are comfortable, and of course look effortlessly fabulous. A neon scarf paired with a neutral dress, is, to me, the perfect accessory and doesn't require much thought. I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend and make sure to check out the other bloggers featured here!

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Memorial Day! I'm having a great holiday weekend thus far. My friend from New York came to visit and we have been enjoying the pool, barbecuing, and spending the evening baking the most delicious treats! Today, we are going to our favorite lunch spot, which has the most beautiful views of the ocean, and then heading to the pool to enjoy the live band. How is your holiday weekend going?

Pretty Polish

I've always been a fan of bright, vibrant colors on my nails, but lately I've been obsessing over polish to the point where I've been changing my color daily. I find myself able to play with color on my nails more than I am with my clothes. Here are a few polishes that have been rotating on my nails the last few days. What are your go-to colors?

1. butter LONDON 'Primrose Hill Picnic'
2. butter LONDON 'Bossy Boots'
3. ZOYA 'Wednesday'
4. ZOYA 'Megan'
5. ZOYA 'Lola'
6. Chanel 'Orange Fizz'

Highlighter

Madewell Skirt, Gibson Sweater, Target Clutch, Ray Ban Sunglasses

There is nothing better than neon accents, right? This sweater has just the right amount of neon. Over the past couple of weeks I've been dressing very casual, (due to the hot weather) with light fabrics and colors, as this outfit shows. This particular skirt is one of my favorites in my closet and sometimes all you need is a little bit of color to spice up an outfit and make it feel brand new again.

Girl Of The Month

I've always loved Diane Kruger's style but after seeing her Met Gala look, I've been completely obsessing over her. She wore a Prada gown with an ostrich feathered hemline. I loved the loose, slightly bohemian dress, and how she layered it with a matching necklace and red clutch (amazing!). Diane’s effortless street style usually has lots of layers, patterns, and she’s known for her awesome assortment of fedoras. I draw a lot of inspiration from her style and here are some of my favorite looks that she has rocked!

Feminine Touch

Anthropologie Dress, Madewell Heels, Target Bag. Bracelets: Alex and Ani, Kate Spade, Oia Jules

I usually steer away from super girly details on my clothing, and when I do buy clothes that have subtle touches of prep, I try to toughen it up (like adding a black leather jacket to a floral printed dress here). I think I have officially scarred myself from ultra feminine and preppy fabrics in high school, when my wardrobe consisted mostly of gingham, seersucker, and Lily Pulitzer (believe it!). I tried on this dress about four or five times until I finally made it mine. I didn't try to toughen up the slight ruffle and dainty layers instead, this time, I embraced my inner girly-girl and paired it with wood heels and layered jewelry.

Weekend Wrap Up

How was your weekend? My dad came to Florida to visit for a few days in between business trips, so we spent the weekend going to our favorite dinner spots, spending time on the lake, and I unfortunately had to catch up on homework for my summer school classes. The weather has been unbearably hot lately (so much for thinking I was used to the heat) and it actually scares me that I am entering my first Florida summer— I will have to keep my outfits light and airy, and my hair natural in order to "survive." Here are a few snapshots from my weekend!

Black and Gold

Free People Dress, Coach Wedges, DANNIJO Earrings (Similar), Rebecca Minkoff Clutch,  House of Harlow Rings,. Bracelets (left to right): House of Harlow, J. Crew, Oia Jules, Hermes

Black and gold is such a classic color combo, and since I've been channeling my inner boho girl lately, this dress is perfect for me. I picked this up last weekend at the Bloomingdales outlet and wore it that same night (you always know when you make a good clothing purchase if you want to wear it instantly!). My dresses that I wear out at night tend to be a little more rocker than bohemian, so I was really excited when I found a fancier dress that had a touch of hippie to it!
