Weekend Wrap Up

Another weekend bites the dust! On Saturday I was completely pushed outside my comfort zone, and went with my dad on an airboat ride to see hundreds of gators. Going there reminded me just how much of a city girl I am. I was not meant to be near large pythons that are actually fed frozen rabbits! The boat ride turned out to be a blast and some of the alligators, like the babies, were even cute too. On Sunday I drove over to the other coast of Florida to visit my sister. It was so great to spend time with her. We even got to hang out on a yacht (that stayed docked)! How was your weekend? Happy Monday!

Skirt or Dress?

If you guessed dress, you're right! To me, maxis are the ultimate beachwear— or in my case, everyday wear. Since I now have two weeks off before my summer classes start, I’ve been trying to enjoy the beaches, catch up on sleep, and spend some time with my dad before he heads back to Connecticut. This beach day in Naples was particularly beautiful and we even saw dolphins swimming during our lunch! I am now planning another beach day that will revolve around paddle boarding and jet skies right before reality sets in and I am overwhelmed with more grad school homework!

Every winter I buy myself a new black dress that usually turns in my go-to dress for every weekend. Now that my winters consist of 80 degree days I find myself always wanting to wear light colors, especially white. Weekend Wrap Up

I was back in Connecticut for a fun filled family weekend. My aunt and cousin Troy flew in from North Carolina to spend time with my mother and I. The four of us always have too much fun together, and the reunions usually consist of everyone being extra loud— I guess that’s the Italian in us, right? On Friday we attended a wedding and had so much fun dancing, and toasting with champagne. Troy ended up being the life of the party with his insanely funny dance moves. On Saturday, we met up with more cousins for a late night dinner at Napa & Co. in Stamford, Connecticut, and Sunday was spent celebrating my aunt’s birthday over a delicious brunch. I'm sad the weekend is over; it's always fun celebrating with my family. I am back to Florida this morning to wrap up my second semester of graduate school! How was your weekend?

This is one of my favorite dresses in my closet— I love the Aztec print and the changing colors, while the asymmetrical length adds that little extra boho flair! Adding a pop of orange in a clutch is fun too!

For the next three days I have planned different bohemian inspired outfits. As you know from yesterday's post (here), Coachella, and the hot Florida weather, have inspired me to look inside my closet and put together different textures and patterns that I wouldn't normally pair. When I first bought this skirt I imagined it with more of a rocker feel, (here) but pairing it with a cropped orange safari top and wood heels gives it a very hippie vibe— especially with the head scarf! Here is look one of my three-day challenge.

After stalking the Internet for my favorite Coachella outfits, I find myself wanting to revamp my wardrobe and only wear bohemian, hippie style pieces. I've always been a fan of ikat and Aztec prints, but I now want to pair different pieces together and take more risks with fringe, colors, and accessories like head scarves.  I love getting inspired by other people’s outfits and am completely obsessed with Coachella right now. Pretty In Peplum

I bought my first peplum top years ago without really knowing what I was buying. I just knew I loved the flirty nature of the tight black top and the way it flared out, and it also didn't hurt that I found it very flattering. Now years later, I find myself following the current peplum trend with this cream top from Anthropologie. Peplum tops paired with fitted bottoms, like a skirt or skinny jeans, make for a perfect look and can be office ready for during the day and then easily transition to a perfect look for a post-work happy hour. How do you rock your peplum?

Girl Of The Month

I love Adele. I think that she looks flawless at every red carpet event and wins my vote for best hair and makeup at all of the award shows. I love the fact that she keeps her outfit simple, wearing mostly black, and lets people truly focus on her talent, instead of needing smoke and mirrors. Each dress is more stunning than the next and fit her curvy frame perfectly. And there is no denying that she's one of the most talented artists! Are you an Adele fan?
