Florals are popping up everywhere in fashion in new and unexpected items like jeans, to places we’ve seen them before, like accessories. I like the girly vibes that the floral patterns have and I have been looking for the right piece to add to my closet— some of the prints I've seen makes me feel like I'm trying on something my grandmother would wear. I bought this dress at Anthropologie over the weekend and wanted to wear it right away. I love the pattern, shape, and long sleeves, and it even has a cut out back, which adds a bit of sass! How will you interpret the floral trend?

Weekend Wrap Up

I spent this past weekend in NYC visiting friends and enjoying the city. The weekend flew by- the good ones always do, right? My friend Macey and I hit up our favorite restaurant, Beauty and Essex, and had a great time as per usual. The food is delicious and the ambiance is beautiful. They even have a free champagne bar in the ladies room- need I say more? I've also been dying to try Lucali's pizza, and finally made the trip to Brooklyn for it. It was certainly lives up to all the hype. And how great are BYOB restaurants?

I'm a big fan of Blow, one of the original blowout spots, but I finally tried the new Drybar in the Le Parker Meridian and was obsessed. I've heard rave reviews of the company and finally understand why. I can't wait to go back!

Friday and Saturday nights were spent sipping on cocktails at some of our favorite bars and we somehow ended up staying out until five am both nights. We didn't even realize how late it was until we got home! Those are always the best nights.

Winter Inspiration

I am headed to NYC today. I don't think I could be more excited or more confused as to what to wear or pack. I grew up in Connecticut but ever since moving to Florida for graduate school I have forgotten just how cold the winters can be there.  I needed a little cold weather outfit inspiration and found these perfect photos to help with that! Cold weather does not mean you have to look dark and dreary— I'm going to pack lots of layering pieces, fun scarfs and hats, and even some color!

Jewelry Organization

I've been receiving comments on sharing my jewelry collection and how I organize my favorite pieces. Organization is key when you are trying to get ready in the morning and your day can be instantly ruined if you happened to forget your favorite arm party item, right? I like to display my pieces around my room in a glass tray or decorative bowls. Openly displaying your jewelry, as long as it's orderly, looks nice and means you’ll never forget what pieces you have. Bright Idea

I wore this outfit to dinner on Sunday night. BCBG is not one of my typical shopping destinations, but I do occasionally run it at random ever since finding this amazing hot pink maxi (seen here and here). I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit. I was instantly drawn to this midi length dress with an asymmetrical hemline. The color, length, and shape are amazing and I walked out pretty satisfied. Pairing it with tough black accessories gave it a fun, rocker-esque vibe. I guess this serves to show that adding a little variation to your regular stores can lead to great, unexpected purchases!

Obsession Of The Week

I am completely captivated by Zoya nail polish lately. Zoya Polish was specifically formulated to deliver the longest wear possible on natural nails, and it lives up to the hype! I also love the fact that is all natural, free of toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates, and camphor (yuck!). They have amazing colors too- my current favorite 'Zola'! Have I given you enough reasons to try it out? You will not be disappointed!

I love when my outfits don't look too perfect. I think mixing styles like preppy, girlie, edgy, boho makes for a unique look. This blush colored skirt has an extra girlie vibe so mixing it with edgier accessories like gold chunky jewelry, and my Jeffery Campbell Litas (and black tights, of course) completely portrays my personal style. I like my looks to be unexpected and risky. I know I say this a lot, but I cannot wait to wear this outfit again soon.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I decided to be festive for this holiday in a bright red dress! I usually am not one to dress for a holiday— you will never find me in a Christmas sweater even though I am going to be a teacher, but I couldn’t resist wearing red! Maxi dresses and skirts are my absolute favorite thing to wear and they actually end up being the most versatile pieces in my closet. I love the asymmetrical hemline trend, but if you are not ready to dive right in, here is a subtle way to rock it. I found this lace bottom maxi dress in Anthropologie and instantly loved it. This dress is a great, discrete way to pull off the asymmetrical look, and it might give you the confidence to rock the hi-low hemline look in the future. I'm still searching for one!
