Weekend Wrap up

I didn't realize this weekend was considered Halloween weekend until I went out and had people (of all ages) dressed up like doctors, cowboys, and fairies, not like I would have worn a costume anyway. I've never been one to love Halloween and was pretty positive that after dressing up in college (half assed), I would never dress up again. For all of you who embrace Halloween, I'd love to know what you dressed up as, and maybe you can change my negative mindset. Anyways, over the weekend I pushed myself to get out of the house and attend happy hours, a hockey game, and a late night dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant in Naples. I hope all of you are staying safe with this hurricane! Florida is getting lots of wind, but where I'm from in Connecticut is supposed to get hit hard, so stay safe!

The Perfect Pant

Eileen Fisher Pants, Vince Top (On Sale!), Free People Necklace, Zara Clutch, Henri Bendel Ring, Coach Wedges

Yes, I'm wearing pants. Surprised? I would be too. The black pant for Fall is huge, and it's a definite must have for everyone. There are many options, some fancier than others, that are perfect for everyone's personal style (my favorites are the pants with leather details or zippers on the ankle). They can be work appropriate during the day with a boyfriend sweater or blouse, and easily transition to the night by throwing on a leather jacket. I was determined to find the perfect black pant for Fall and have been living in this pair! Can you believe they're Eileen Fisher? Don't judge me.

Its got a ring to it

I've been leaving my arm party at home recently and totally wearing multiple rings at once. My collection of rings ranges anywhere from oversized cocktail rings to dainty gold bands, obviously depending on my mood. As a self proclaimed nail polish junkie, I feel like my fresh painted nails are best complemented by pretty gems— who knows! But you do have to switch it up sometimes, right? Do you rock a ring party?

Fashion Statement

Rachel Rachel Roy Tee, Anthropologie Skirt (On Sale!), House of Harlow Necklace and Earrings, Target Clutch, Coach Wedges

I've been wearing fun tee shirts way too much lately, but wearing one, like this, that makes a real statement is always fashionable. Last week, Spirit Day took over the social media, and it seemed positive with lots of people embracing the day and taking a stand against bullying. With that being said, we must remember just wearing purple on Spirit Day doesn't solve the issue. We must be proactive on the matter every day, and I hope everyone recognizes and realizes why they chose to wear purple on that day. As an educator, I have zero tolerance for bullying and see first hand how it affects students negatively, which makes this tee perfect for me. What do you think about making a loud statement with fashion?

Weekend Wrap up

The weather has been absolutely beautiful in Southwest Florida, warm days followed by breezy nights, and it makes me want to spend all day and night outside. Friday night was spent at a casual dinner date with my boyfriend followed by late night swimming. On Sunday, my mom came back into town, and we spent it walking around the shops and eating salads at our favorite lunch spot— yum! How was your weekend?

Pretty Tough

Anthropologie Dress, Necklace, and Belt (Similar), Sam Edelman Booties (Similar), Louis Vuitton Clutch

This is the type of dress that can completely transform my mood. It made me feel put together and pairing it with a bow belt was rather girly of me. As most of you know, I can't have an outfit look too perfect so adding a spiked bootie just felt right. Have a great weekend!

My Latest Obsession

My obsession with graphic tees has gone on for quite some time now, but I feel like I've mastered the wear of them just recently. Years ago I tried too hard to work them in to my wardrobe, and it didn't look authentic and tended to look too perfect.  Now I pair them with anything and everything. I think the trick is not to think too hard. My wardrobe is usually pretty casual, but if I'm wearing a fancier skirt or pant, it's so easy to pair them with an oversized t-shirt.  This completely transforms your outfit look to effortless and makes for the perfect downtown vibe that I like my style to emit. Where is your go-to store for the perfect graphic tees?

Here are some of my favorites that I've been eyeing:

Nail it

Zoya- 'Roxy'

If you know me, you know that my nails are always painted, and when picking shades, I am no way conservative about it. Last week when I went in for my weekly manicure, I was determined to have electric red on my nails. When I see girls with red nails, I feel like their hands always look pretty. I can't explain it. Their hands look dainty and clean and they look totally put together. Anyways, I picked out the perfect shade of red that I was sure would do just the trick. My manicurist looked at me with a surprised look and said, "Red?" I tried to explain my theory how red polish makes for pretty hands. She wasn't buying it and said, "There is nothing conservative about you." So, long story short, I left with glitter nails.

I tend to always use Zoya polish because it's formaldehyde free, and I do think it lasts longer than other brands that I have tried. I'm not going to go through the time and effort of a manicure that is just going to mess up that next day, right? Also, they have the BEST colors, especially their Fall collection. I'm loving the greens, grays, and even glitter! Below are a few of my favorites from Zoya's Fall 2012 collection.

New Again

Madewell Dress, Belt, and Jacket, Coach Wedges, Rebecca Minkoff Clutch, House of Harlow Necklace and Ring
You know those days where your closet is full of clothes, yet you have absolutely nothing to wear? Whenever I feel this way, I know that my closet is in need of a serious cleaning. While doing this, I fell in love with this dress all over again. I bought it two summers ago and wore it out, but now, pairing it with darker hues makes it perfect for transitioning into Fall and gives it a brand new look.

Weekend Wrap up

It took awhile but I'm finally feeling like my normal self again and was happy that I could enjoy the weekend outside (free tip of the day- don't forget your flu shot). The weather in Southwest Florida has been absolutely perfect— no humidity and bright blue skies. It is perfect for pool days and allows for light sweaters at night, which satisfies my Fall craving— just a bit! Oh, and I even painted my nails the perfect shade of glitter (Zoya- Roxy). How was your weekend?

Comfort Zone

Remain Skirt, WILDFOX Tee, J.Crew Necklace, Ray Ban Sunglasses

My style cannot be labeled. It changes daily and completely reflects the mood that I'm feeling at that exact moment. When I purchased this skirt, I was channeling my inner girly girl. The length, the floral print, and the flowy material made is irresistible. Above all, I hate outfits that look too perfect, and even though this skirt is precious, it can still look "me" with an oversized graphic tee and statement necklace. How do you make an outfit individual to you?

P.S.— All my Ray Ban obsessed girls, how do you wear yours all day? I love wearing them too, but they KILL. Maybe theres a hidden secret, or maybe they just need to be resized.

Have a fabulous weekend.
