Sweater Weather

J Brand Jeans, Madewell Sweater (30% off!), Belle by Sigerson Morrison Boots, Chan Luu Necklaces
I'm typically not a jeans girl, but I tend to live in this black pair whenever I am back in Connecticut. I pair them with a chunky sweater, like this, or oversized black tops. I hope you all have a spectacular Christmas filled with family, friends, and good food. I will see you next year!

*P.S.— If you would like to help Newtown, CT, you can make snowflakes! Sandy Hook students will be entering a new school come January, and the PTA has decided to make it a winter wonderland for the kids. Send your snowflakes to the following address:

60 Connolly Parkway
Building 12, Suite 103
Hamden, CT  06514

The flakes must be submitted by January 12th. Get creative!

Connecticut has completely transformed me into the Christmas spirit. I think the cooler temps help. Around the holidays, I love to wear long sleeved dresses, bundle up near the fire, and watch my favorite holiday movies. Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping? I am finally done!

Weekend Wrap up

I find it very difficult to discuss fashion, style, and latest trends while I sit here watching CNN updates about the tragic events in Newtown, CT. This tragedy was senseless and heartbreaking. I can't fathom what these parents and families are going through. Growing up in a small Connecticut town makes it hit close to home, and as a future teacher, no child should ever feel unsafe at school. I'm sending prayers, love, and hugs to everyone who needs them. These types of experiences make us want to keep our loved ones a little closer, which is exactly what I did all weekend. This reminds you not to take a single moment for granted. I'm so happy I was able to spend the weekend with my mom and brother in New York doing some of our favorite things.

Chambray Shirt

Anthropologie Dress, Madewell Chambray, Romy Gold Bag, Sam Edelman Sandals, Free People Necklaces

Chambray is on my top five closet essentials list, followed by an LBD, leather jacket, etc. Chambray shirts are beyond versatile (even colored options) and can be paired with summer dresses, skirts, or even denim (if you're daring). I also love how it can be brought into winter fashion as well. While walking around town yesterday with my mom, I spotted a girl wearing tights, a floral dress, and a loose fitted chambray top, and I loved the look. You can never get it wrong. I always gravitate toward this Madewell version when looking for an extra layer, and it never disappoints. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend — I'm headed to New York City today!

Office Holiday Party

Sequin Romper $35.40

Office holiday parties can be tough to dress for, because we want to showcase our personal style, yet we have to be cautious, since we are around our co-workers and bosses. So, what do we do? Easy. Pair funkier pieces (like a printed skirt), with a more tailored piece (like a blazer) to balance out the outfit. This still showcases your individual style, but the tailored piece helps it be a little more conservative. Don't you hate that word? Here are a few office appropriate ensembles that are stylish, sophisticated, and don't break the bank!
Tuxedo Jacket $37.99
Sequin Blocked Bronze Skirt $40.99

Sequin Tuxedo Jacket $39.99

Sunny Disposition

Wildfox Tee, Rebecca Taylor Skirt, H+M Bag, J. Crew Necklace, Gucci Sunglasses, Chan Luu Bracelets, House of Harlow Rings

The weather in Florida has been beautiful, which is allowing me to wear my favorite pieces before heading back to the FREEZING Connecticut weather. This maxi skirt is one of my favorites. When I bought it, I never looked at it as animal print (to me it's boho/tribal), and I probably wouldn't have been attracted to it if i realized it in the store. With that being said, everyone likes to correct me and let me know that I am wearing an animal print maxi. Cool guys. At least try to satisfy me. It's still my favorite. Haha. Have a great weekend!

Holiday Gifts for your Bestie

This one makes me laugh! If I'm going to wear a friendship bracelet after fifth grade, it better look like this. Obviously you don't have to go old school with the broken hearts. There are so many colorful bracelets waiting to be stacked on your friend's wrists.

This is the perfect gift for your girlfriend who cannot start her day without multiple cups of coffee. I love fun mugs in my kitchen, and they are a great gift to brave the cold weather and bundle up with a hot drink.

Ornaments are one of my favorite gifts to give. You can buy this gift to completely cater to your friend's exact personality. The ones above are a bit quirky, but there are so many options that I don't doubt you will find the perfect one for your bestie!

I think these are too fun. I always carry around a notebook in my purse. They carry my to do lists or just random ideas that go through my head. Mine are pretty drab compared to these and I would love to style mine up with colors and fun quotes! So many options!

We all have girlfriends that we have never seen without polish on (aka me). So here's the gift for them! Buy their favorite color(s) and brand(s) and you are good to go!

Are you a little less overwhelmed now? I love buying gifts that I know my family and friends will love, cherish, and actually use. Follow this guide for your best girlfriends, and you are all set!
