Madewell Dress, Alice + Olivia Sweater, Sam Edelman Boots, Romy Gold Bag, Alex and Ani Bracelets, House of Harlow 1960 Ring and Bangle, Gucci Sunglasses
Dresses are my thing, for sure, and I couldn't resist pairing this oversized beige sweater with a drop waist sweater dress. There is nothing comfier than a sweater dress! Santa hooked me up with a lot of accessories this year and I am loving the new additions to my arm party! What do you think? Have a wonderful new year!

Preppy With An Edge

Madewell Skirt, Top, and Jacket, Coach Wedges, House of Harlow 1960 Ring

Funny story, I walked into Madewell and picked out this top, jacket, and tweed skirt and never envisioned them together. When trying it all on I unknowingly made a complete outfit. This tweed skirt has surprisingly been a very versatile item in my closet, which is exciting. You can check it out in a more night time look here!

Are we friends on facebook yet?

I am so excited for New Year’s Eve! Since I will be in Florida this year, I am forgoing the typical sequined dress for a bright color — feels more appropriate. For those of you who are still debating on what to wear, here are a few dresses to inspire you and help make your search a little easier! How will you be ringing in the New Year?

Yellow Fever

H&M Dress, Zara Jacket, Madewell Scarf and Boots, Romy Gold Bag

When wearing a simple black dress it is always fun to sass it up with a pop of color, like in a scarf or a big shouldered rocker jacket. I am not typically drawn to yellow tones, but I couldn't resist the shade of this scarf. What is your favorite vibrant color?

white + black
You know those days where you have absolutely nothing to wear? Well, I've been having a lot of those lately. I feel as though my outfits have gotten a little dull and monotonous— they need some spicing up. I've been looking through magazines, and reading some of my favorite blogs to draw some inspiration for new outfit ideas using pieces that are already in my closet. It always helps to be influenced by the things around you when you feel like you are in a little bit of a fashion rut. Here is what is currently inspiring me:

preppy with an edge
orange + royal blue
stud overload
pattern perfection

Leather and Lace

Madewell Dress, Theory Jacket, J.Crew Necklace, House Of Harlow 1960 Ring, Jeffery Campbell Boots

I'm very much drawn to lace, in dresses, skirt, or top form. I love how dainty the fabric is and how extremely feminine you feel when wearing it. Instead of pairing this dress with a classic pump and structured jacket, like some might envision with lace, I decided to stick to my rocker ways by pairing it with leather, and my Jeffery Campbell Litas. I don't dress very so-called "girlie" so adding rocker-esque accessories to the lace just felt right. I wore this outfit out in NYC last weekend and it was the perfect middle ground between girlie and rocker.

Madewell Skirt, Equipment Blouse, Coach Wedges, House Of Harlow 1960 Ring, J.Crew Necklace

When buying this tweed skirt I swear I had a flashback to my preppier days. You know, mixing different colored polos (popped collar obviously) with Lily Pulitzer belts. I try to forget those days— they give me nightmares. Tweed doesn't have to mean full blown prep, you can pair it with a pop of color, pattern, or sweater and can actually be very versatile. I've been obsessing over polka dots as of late and couldn't resist the fun combination of a sheer polka dot blouse mixed with a short tweed skirt.

Weekend Wrap Up

I spent my weekend in New York celebrating my mom's birthday. My weekend was filled with last minute Christmas shopping, blowouts, and pasta and champagne at Nello for lunch. The city was crowded to say the least, and we tried to avoid Fifth Ave at all costs. I also was happy for my quick visit with my bestie Macey! The best weekends always fly by. I did some shopping in the city, but I'm not proud to admit that I haven't completed my Christmas shopping, which is so unlike me, but I will finish this week! Did you finish your holiday shopping?

Disco Ball

J Brand Jeans, Theory Top, Gap Jacket, Hermes, Betsey Johnson, and Kate Spade Bangles

Adding sparkles, even when going to a low-key dinner, makes things so much more fun! My mom and I decided to go to an early dinner last night and next to the restaurant was the cutest Christmas tree farm, and we just had to walk around. Wearing sequins around the holidays always adds the right amount of sparkle and brightens up an all black look!

P.S. Sending all my love to the most amazing person in my life, my mom. Happy birthday!

Bright Idea

Madewell Skirt, Necklace, and Boots, Zara Sweater, Theory Jacket, Gucci Sunglasses, Vintage Scarf

I love the combination of bold colors mixed with black leather— it adds edge and fun to an outfit! I am finally back in Connecticut for Christmas break and love winterizing my favorite colored sweaters and skirts and making them seasonally appropriate. I noticed the people on the streets were dressed head to toe black, per usual for the wintertime, but why not spice up an outfit with a pop of color? Mixing royal blue, black leather, and hot pink makes for a perfect combination for an outfit no matter what the weather is.
